A not so exciting update….
Since we have been here our water has never gotten hot, at best it would get luke warm, which made taken showers quite fun, especially when just some luke warm water would have been nice. When I went to pay rent at the end of September for October I asked if there was anything that could be done (I figured all the hot water for all the units came from one hot water heater but it was worth a shot). I was told that all the hot water came from one hot water heater for all the units, like I had thought, and they did not want to turn it up because some people would end up getting scalded if they did, which I understood, but they said they would see what they could do. To me this meant nothing would be done and I would never hear a thing about it kind of like the mailbox key issue we had. Last weekend I was in the shower and had the hot water turned all the way up as usual and all of a sudden it got extrememly hot. I was thrilled at the fact even though it was too hot and had to be turned down (bonus) and since then it has stayed that way. I’m guessing others started to complain also.
My allergies have been bothering me greatly the past two weeks and I only had three Allegra left, but I did have one refill left. Problem is I have no health insurance at this time (I know big mistake) I did not want to spend the money to get the refill and I did not want to take the last three, as it normally takes three (one a day) for them to really start working (they work quickly but symptoms are not completely gone till about then). Well they really started to bother me so I figured I will take the last three. After those three days I was feeling better, so I hoped it would last, it didn’t. Two days later I was fed up and went and got the prescription refilled. As much as I did not want to spend the money I rationalized it by the fact that it cost me just a little less than insurance would have cost me for this month and last. I now have a months supply and hopefully by then my allergies will take a break and shortly after that I will have insurance again.
My week of joblessness has got me starting to run and do my pilates again which is great. I really needed to get back into it as I really enjoy doing both and I feel so much better during the day. I also started reading Christopher Rice’s new book Light Before Day. I am enjoying it greatly (as expected, his first two were great and I look forward to everytime he has a new one come out) and I am more than half way done with it. What to read next, I think I will move on to Bart Yates’ new book. I also went shopping for some work clothes (meaning dress shirts) and spent too much money at Macy’s and Old Navy. I think one or two of the Macy’s shirts will have to go back. Anyway I am ready to get started with this new job on Monday and start making some money.
