So this past week has been busy for me in the morning having to run many errands before going to work. But it was all good because it was all in order to go to the sale of my truck….I officially no longer own a vehicle. In a way it is kind of odd beeing that I have owned a vehicle since I was 19 years old. In another way it is like I really do not miss it at all. I think since I have been here several months already and not using it and it has been more of a hassle having to move it on street cleaning days (which was the only time I really thought about the truck) it is a nice relief. The best part about all this is no more car payments or insurance payments which will be a huge money saver.
My Vehicle History
Aug 1996 – Mar 1998 – ’85 Toyota Camry – light blue – this vehicle got hit in a parking lot in South Carolina and it was undrivable so I could not drive it back to NC, it was eventually fixed and driven back to me.
Mar 1998 – Nov 1999 – ’89 Toyota Camry – white – this was my parents car, that i bought cheaply from them and sold my other vehicle. this vehicle eventually “blew up” driving down the highway moving from my Mebane apartment into the Burlington apartment…Heather came to the rescue
Dec 1999 – July 2003 – ’00 Toyota Corolla – dark green – I needed a vehicle quickly as I no longer had one and I had to be able to get to and from work. This was my first new vehicle in which I leased for four years.
July 2003 – Dec 2005 – ’03 Toyota Tacoma – silver – My lease was up and I needed a new vehicle, I went for a truck, and was suppose to have a five year lease and as stated above only went about 2 1/2 years.
I’m thinking it will be a while before I actually own another vehicle and I am looking forward to being vehilcless….
