I got up this morning at 4:30am to leave. Greg got up and Brian and Chris came to say good-bye. It was really hard for me to say alright I am leaving now because I really did not want to say good-bye. Finally we did say our good-byes and I got in the truck and drove away. It was very hard for me and it took me a while to get my mind off of it.

Pulling the trailer is not fun but by the end of the day I was not hating it as much, but still wish it was not back there. Going through the mountains in NC the truck was struggling going up those hills and it was pouring down rain. I think my top speed was 35-40mph at this time. At this point I was so frustrated with the drive. Once the hills turn downward and the rain stopped it was not so bad. My biggest fear is that my truck is not going to handle it well and it is going to break down on the way.

Leg 1 of the trip

Raleigh, NC to Nashville, TN

10 hours, I gained an hour coming into the Central Time Zone

513.2 miles traveled

average of 51mph

28.721 gallons of gas totaling $63.21

average of 17.868mpg

BTW…TN is one really long state
